TOM SOX SECURE 100th WIN WITH VICTORY AGAINST WINCHESTER ROYALS (12-7)
In the third game of their fifth season, the Tom Sox secured their 100th win in exciting fashion. It was a tight ballgame in Winchester until the 8th inning, when the Tom Sox drove home 5 runs to regain the lead and go up 12-7.
Jake Haney (William & Mary) got the Tom Sox off to a strong start on the mound, allowing 4 runs in 4 innings. Haney was followed by Joe Sprake (Elon) who held the Royals to 3 runs in 3 innings. Cole McNamee (Wake Forest) and Antonio Balducci (Richmond) also made their debuts in the 8th and 9th inning allowing no runs.
Dan Harwood (Wooster) and Cayman Richardson (Virginia) continued with dominant performances at bat. Harwood hit a 2-run home run in the 8th inning in addition to 4 hits while Richardson added 3 RBIs on 4 hits. Both players went a combined 8-for-9 at bat tonight.
The Tom Sox look to continue their 2-game winning streak into tomorrow night’s game against Covington. It is the first game in a 3-game home-stand and first pitch will be at 7pm.
